A vasectomy generally does not present any problems, permitting normal everyday life within a few hours of the surgery. The most common complication is, as with all scrotal surgery, the hematoma (bruising).
It is advisable to wear a jockstrap and observe sexual abstinence for one week.
It is essential to carry out a semen analysis after 20 ejaculations or within 2 months of the surgery for the purposes of confirming the absence of sperm. Until that moment, contraceptive measures should continue to be taken.
After the vasectomy everything continues as normal, even the amount of semen, although it will be less thick (due to the lack of sperm).
Despite the fact that it is very difficult, in less than 1% of cases the vas deferens may be restored
