It is very common for different-sized cystic formations (full of liquid) to be produced in the testicle and principally in the epididymis.
Diagnosis is arrived at by physical examination and the projection of light behind the testicle. If light is observed in the anterior part of the testicle (positive transillumination) it is indicative of the presence of cysts.
On occasion a scrotal ultrasound may be required.
Generally, these cysts do not cause any discomfort and do not tend to be very large.
If necessary, minor surgery can be performed to remove them.
