As a consequence of any process undergone by the testicle or the epididymis there may be pain in the scrotal area, radiating or not towards the groin which on occasion is very difficult to resolve due to the significant psychological component that becomes established.
In these cases the possible disorders that explain the pain must be investigated, such as inflammations, infections, formations, etc.
The treatment must be focussed on resolving the problem causing the pain, and therefore the administration of anti-inflammatory medication or antibiotics, etc may be indicated. In severe cases analgesics and even anti-depressants may be administered.
Very rarely, surgery can be performed to sever certain nerves in the testicle (testicular denervation) or even remove the epididymis and/or testicle. However, occasionally the pain persists after undertaking these treatments.
